A free society and a secure business environment are not things we can take for granted; they are the result of consistent, collective effort. We are deeply honoured to announce that the Ministry of Defence has recognized the Marduk Technologies team with the official "Supporter of National Defenders" (Riigikaitsjate toetaja) award.
This year, a record 700 employers were nominated for the title, with 527 receiving the recognition. This demonstrates that the Estonian business community understands the importance of comprehensive national defence more deeply than ever before. As Kaimo Kuusk, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, aptly put it during the award ceremony: "A protected state means successful business. Strong national defence is born from the joint contribution of the state, its people, and employers." This sentiment perfectly reflects Marduk’s core operating principles—without a secure home front, it is impossible to drive innovation or build the future.
Technology Provides the Edge, But the Human Asset Decides the Outcome
As a defence industry company, understanding the needs of the battlefield and ensuring security is our daily work. The cutting-edge counter-UAS and electronic warfare solutions we develop are designed precisely to provide real protection against modern tactical threats. We know that in contemporary conflict, success is determined by technological advantage.
Yet, as experienced defence industry engineers and strategists, we understand one fact even better: no system, algorithm, or sensor can replace a human being. Technology is merely a tool in the hands of an experienced and dedicated defender.
That is exactly why our contribution to Estonia's security begins from within—with our own employees. The Marduk team includes several dedicated reservists who regularly contribute to military exercises and the activities of the Estonian Defence League (Kaitseliit). As an employer, it is our duty to provide them with maximum peace of mind. We maintain our employees' salaries and positions during training exercises and fully encourage their participation in national defence. Employees returning from exercises bring back invaluable leadership experience, stress tolerance, and a strategic mindset, which strengthens our entire corporate culture.
Recognition for a Shared Culture
Receiving the "Supporter of National Defenders" badge is a high recognition for our entire team for maintaining this culture and shared values. It confirms that we are on the right track—we are not only building globally competitive technology, but also standing firmly by our country and our people.
We thank the Ministry of Defence for this recognition and express our deepest respect to the entire Estonian defence community—servicemembers, members of the Defence League, reservists, and their loved ones. Your contribution ensures a secure tomorrow for us all.
